Fujifilm is adapting its strategy to the rapid changes in the printing industry. While continuing to invest in digital printing and Revoria solutions, the company is reorganising its activities related to offset printing plates, with the transition taking place gradually through 2026 and 2027. For Printman customers, operations and support continue as normal. Printman is closely monitoring these developments and will provide transparent updates as further information becomes available for the European and Romanian markets.

What is changing within Fujifilm Graphic Communications?

Fujifilm is adapting its strategy to changes in the printing industry

The printing industry is changing rapidly, and digitalization, automation and new technologies are increasingly influencing the way printing companies develop their business.

In this context, Fujifilm has recently announced several changes related to Fujifilm Business Innovation and the Graphic Communications division.

In August, Fujifilm Holdings announced that it is considering a partial spin-off of Fujifilm Business Innovation. At this moment, no final decision has been made, and the process is still under evaluation. The stated objective is to allow Business Innovation to operate with greater autonomy and flexibility in a constantly changing market.

For the printing industry, it is important to distinguish between the main directions of this strategy.

Digital printing: Revoria remains an important area of development

In the digital printing segment, Fujifilm continues to invest in the development of Revoria solutions, automation and the integration of AI-based technologies.

The Revoria Press series remains one of the important platforms in Fujifilm’s strategy for Graphic Communications, and the new generations of equipment show a clear focus on higher productivity, automation and expanded colour reproduction capabilities.

A recent example is the Revoria Press PC2120, a six-colour digital press developed with advanced automation features and AI-based technologies.

For us at Printman, these developments confirm that Fujifilm continues to consider digital printing an important area of growth and development.

Conventional printing: reorganisation of activities related to offset plates

At the same time, Fujifilm Business Innovation has announced the reorganisation of activities related to offset printing plates.

According to official information, the manufacturing, sales and related functions for offset printing plates for markets outside Japan, the United States, Canada and Mexico are to be transferred to Huangshan Jinruitai Technology Co., Ltd. (JRT) and its affiliated companies.

The process will take place in stages, with the transfer of the manufacturing facility in China planned by the end of 2026, while certain commercial activities are expected to be transferred in the first half of 2027.

It is important to note that this change concerns offset printing plates. Flexographic printing plates are not part of this transfer.

This reorganisation comes against the backdrop of changes in conventional printing and declining global volumes.

What do these changes mean for Printman customers?

At this moment, Printman’s activity and the support provided to our customers continue as normal.

We remain alongside both customers who use Fujifilm Revoria digital printing solutions and those who use printing plates and other consumables for conventional printing.

We are closely following the implementation of these changes and, as further information becomes available regarding the European and Romanian markets, we will communicate it transparently to our customers.

The industry is transforming, and technologies are evolving along with it. Printman’s role remains the same: to help printing companies choose the right solutions and provide them with the support they need in the long term.
