Luxel T-X / T-S Series – New-generation thermal CTP platesetters with superior stability and productivity
The Luxel T-X and T-S series represents Fujifilm's new generation of thermal platesetters, designed to offer excellent exposure stability, high dot quality and advanced productivity in a compact, easy-to-use design. The range consists of three models — Luxel T-X5, T-S3 and T-S1 — to cover diverse needs, from entry level to high-speed production.
The systems use advanced technologies such as spatial light modulator, direct drive motor, linear motor and dynamic autofocus, all contributing to precise, fast and stable exposure.
⭐ Multi-channel Spatial Light Modulator technology (T-X5)
The Luxel T-X5 model uses a unique optical technology: a multi-channel laser carriage that splits the beam into multiple channels to generate square dots with very clean edges.
- ✔ each channel can be controlled individually for maximum stability,
- ✔ the dots are uniform and consistent,
- ✔ energy consumption is low, providing ecological and economic benefits.
This technology is an important advance over conventional fiber-optic laser exposure.
⭐ Direct Drive motor for speed and precision
Unlike traditional belt-driven systems, direct drive technology offers:
- ✔ extremely precise positioning,
- ✔ fast acceleration,
- ✔ a considerable reduction in loading/unloading times,
- ✔ increased overall efficiency.
⭐ Linear Motor – Friction-free precision
The linear motor eliminates positioning errors caused by intermediate mechanisms and has almost zero mechanical friction, which leads to:
- ✔ very high stability,
- ✔ reduced risk of failures,
- ✔ long system service life.
The only contact component is the guide rail.
⭐ Dynamic autofocus with triangular displacement
The Triangular-displacement Dynamic Autofocus system detects micron-level changes during exposure and adjusts the focus in real time:
- ✔ precise control of the distance between lens and plate,
- ✔ uniform exposure across the entire plate surface,
- ✔ consistent accuracy at all speeds.
⭐ Flexible range of models
The series includes three models optimized for different needs and budgets:
Luxel T-X5 (high-speed)
- Light Valve Head exposure head
- ≥220 laser channels
- 55 plates/hour (1030 × 800 mm, sensitivity 110 mJ/cm²)
Luxel T-S3 (standard)
- Fibre Diode laser head
- 64 channels
- 31 plates/hour
Luxel T-S1 (entry)
- 32 channels
- 18 plates/hour
All models use spiral exposure and fixed resolutions of 2400 or 2540 dpi.
⭐ Compatibility and plate dimensions
The series supports:
- maximum: 1163 × 940 mm
- minimum: 400 × 300 mm
- plate thickness: 0.15 – 0.3 mm
Maximum exposure area:
- T-X5: 1163 × 928 mm
- T-S3/S1: 1163 × 924 mm
⭐ Multiple loading options
Depending on the desired workflow, plate loading can be configured as:
- Manual Loader (P)
- Single Cassette Loader – SCL
- Multi-Cassette Loader – MCL (4 cassettes)
- Pallet Loader – APL (single or double bay)
This variety allows the system to be adapted to any level of automation, space or budget.
⭐ Compact design and easy operation
The entire series offers:
- ✔ very compact design (especially with processless plates),
- ✔ simple PC interface via optical cable,
- ✔ the ability to load plates into unused cassettes even during exposure,
- ✔ advanced continuous-operation features.
This provides high efficiency in a minimal footprint.
⭐ Remote Maintenance – intelligent maintenance
The Luxel T-X/T-S systems offer:
- ✔ remote diagnostics,
- ✔ automatic status reporting,
- ✔ recommendations for preventive maintenance,
- ✔ analysis of externally uploaded data.
